How to Fish :: Knots & Rigs :: Surgeon's KnotSurgeon's knot is the similar to Surgeon's loop, but is used to attach one line on the middle of another. It is useful to tie hook snood onto the main snood of a rig and can be done relatively fast. Knot strength is acceptably strong but special attention must be given when forming the knot. 1. Take two fishing lines you want to join, at least one end from each line must be open. Hold the two lines together with your thumb and index finer and make a loop. 2. Take the two open ended lines and go through the loop three times. 3. Pull and tighten all four lines simultaneously to achieve well formed surgeon's knot. A well formed Surgeon's Knot should look like this. |
