The Freckled Goatfish is a small but very edible fish found dwelling at the fringes reef or rocky areas. Many would be put off by its colour and though its flesh is reddish in colour, it has an excellent eating fish. They don't grow large, typically of size around 100g - 300g. Usually found solitary. Use of small hooks with prawn meat is an effective way of catching them and sometimes they can be caught on tamban jigs too.
