This halfbeak is often overlooked by anglers because it is small in size compared to other local species of halfbeaks. They are commonly found in canals and streams leading to the sea with source of brackish water. Their small and slender body allows them to into very shallow waters. They are often seen in small groups feeding near water surface. Can be caught with small hooks using bread/prawns/worms. A scoop net can do just as well.
