Common Name(s): Spottail Needlefish Spottail Needlefish are more often found near river mouths and canals with presence of brackish waters. Incoming tide brings them into stream and canals where they look for food. Spottails don't grow as large as other local species of needlefish. They are easily identified with a yellow 'rounded' tail and it has a back spot near its tail. Like other species, they lurk near water surfaces preying on small fishes.
